Jack passed on early Thursday morning after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife Jean, son Scott (Norma) and daughter Sandy (Jerry). 5 Grandchildren Caleb (Donna), Donna (Kyle), Laura (Nate), Sam and Evan (Megan). 4 Great-grandchildren Travis, Molly, Alex and Michael. Jack met his wife Jean at Kalamazoo College where he started radio station WJMD (his initials) where he ran the studio until graduation in 1948. The station is still operational and using the same call letters. Through the 1960’s he volunteered for the Willingboro, NJ fire and police departments while working for Pfizer in New York. He retired from Pfizer in 1988. Since retiring he volunteered much of his time when not traveling. He spent many summers as camp host at Mears SP in Pentwater. His sailing friends nick-named him Hobie Jack. He assisted with the badminton program at the AA Rec Center until a few years ago. The last 14 years were spent volunteering his time with the Ann Arbor Police and Fire Departments, his second family. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 2:00 until time of Memorial Service at 3:30 at the Muehlig Funeral Chapel, Ann Arbor. In lieu of flowers donations may be offered to the Citizens Police Academy in c/o the Ann Arbor Police Department.
