i’m devastated to hear that kevin has died. i worked with him at ciba- geigy / novartis. he was a terrific guy with a great sense of humor. i’m hoping he’s playing depeche  mode albums in heaven!rest in peace my friend.

I just learned of Kevin's passing today and am devastated. Kevin and I were roommates and friends at the U of M during my senior year. I was a last minute addition to a house on Catherine Street and moved in knowing only one of the other tenants. Kevin welcomed me with open arms and loud New Wave music...we shared so many wonderful times in that house and in Ann Arbor. Dancing at the U Club, at our house, down the street with shared headphones... He was a truly special man and a friend I will never forget. Rest in peace Brother!

I was shocked to hear that Kevin had passed away. Kevin was one of the first neighbors to greet me in 2003 when my husband and I moved in to the Arbors. When my husband passed in 2016, Kevin often helped me deal with home repair issues that my husband had previously handled. Kevin was also good company. I will miss him stopping to chat with sweet little Flash during their walks. Marty Germain

Kevin was a great friend and like a son to me for many years here at the Arbors.  We sat and visited many days as Kevin and Flash would stop during their walk around the complex and many times had dinner together.  Flash loved laying in the sun as it streamed in from my deck. My family loved having Kevin stop to talk with them whenever they were visiting me.  Kevin helped me with so many things around my condo with his wonderful fix-all skills. I’ll never forget his loving care for me, as every room in my home has reminders of something he did for me.  After everything stopped in March after our country was devastated with the COVID virus, we just kept up to date with texts.

As Kevin became very ill, another Arbors friend, Sharon Harrington, and I spent the last days and weeks of his life taking him his needs and texting to check on him.

After Kevin passed, the Sheriff placed Flash in the care of the Humane Society.  When this was learned, suddenly at least 4 families came forward and asked about adopting him. Sadly, we weren’t aware that Flash was also severely ill. Despite the efforts of the staff at the Humane Society to stabilize him, he died shortly after his arrival there.

I will miss Kevin and Flash very much as will all of the Arbors family, as he was a friend to us all.


As others have remarked,  Kevin was the first person to welcome us to The Arbors.  Over the years we have had more frequent conversations with him than any one else .  He is a an example for all of us what a good neighbor should be.  We truly miss him.

Henry and Pat Miarka wish to extend our sympathy to the family of Kevin Scott Wass.  Kevin was a wonderful neighbor of ours for many years, and he will be missed by all.  He will be remembered for his friendliness and helpfulness to all in our condo community.

I was saddened to hear of Kevin’s death.  He was welcoming to me when I moved to the Arbors and was helpful when I needed advice on condo upkeep.  He gave lots of hours over the years serving on the board.  He was a familiar sight walking the grounds with Flash.  I will miss them both.  

We had the opportunity to get to know Kevin since he joined Arbors Condominium Community. He had been very serious about enforcing condominium rules. We had some disagreements as well. However he does not forget to smile and start a conversation while walking around the complex. No words can describe how sorry we are for his sudden loss. May he rest in peace.

Kevin and Flash were a memorable duo walking around the complex.  Flash always acting way younger than his age and Kevin's knowledge of the history of The Arbors.  I hope they both find peace.  Very sad to think of them both gone now and know they won't be meeting me outside to greet Cognac or share a bit of news. 

Kevin was the first person to introduce himself when I moved into The Arbors condominiums.  He was really helpful in explaining how everything worked and it was always pleasant visiting with him when he was walking his dog Flash.  

Kevin was the first person I met, my first day of school at West Maple Junior High after moving to Michigan from Louisiana in 7th grade.  We became fast friends...his friendship instantly helped make the transition of moving an easy one.  We remained friends through high school and then drifted.  Like many of us, many years later, we reconnected over facebook, where we shared occasional U of M/MSU ribbing over football games and recognition of other milestones in each others lives.  What an enormous shock to hear of his sudden death.  I am so saddened.  May his family and friends find the  comfort and peace that is sought and needed at this time.  My deepest condolences.

I moved to Maine eight months ago from my condo on Pine Ridge Court. Kevin was the first neighbor I met there along with his wonderful dog, Flash, around 10 years ago.  Kevin and I kept in touch on all of the happenings around the area both in the condominium community as well as globally. He was a big man with a big heart and I was devastated to hear that we lost him yesterday. I will not forget him. He was like a brother
