A lifelong resident of Ann Arbor, Mark was born on March 22, 1951, to the late Walter Charles and Geraldine Clara (Dietzel) Pease. He attended Ann Arbor schools and was a graduate of Pioneer High School.
Mark was a man of many interests and talents. An avid bowler, he participated in numerous bowling leagues over the years and cherished the camaraderie that came with the sport. He was also a dedicated car collector, with interests ranging from a 1934 DeSoto to a 2017 Corvette. A passionate follower of Barrett-Jackson auctions, Mark attended in person when possible and watched faithfully on television.
Known for his frugal nature and inventive mind, Mark owned and operated Pease Enterprise, an industrial manufacturing business. He had a natural gift for problem-solving and was always inventing, building, or improving “something,” often finding practical solutions others might overlook.
Above all, Mark was quietly generous and deeply compassionate. He was always looking out for others, offering help whenever he saw a need—never seeking recognition or praise. Mark took a genuine interest in people and their lives, listening closely and remembering the details that mattered to them. He built a wide and lasting network of friends through his kindness, loyalty, and willingness to lend a hand, forming connections that endured throughout his life.
Mark is survived by his sister, Valerie (Keith) Maxwell of Oregon; his nieces and nephews, Scott Edgar, Elise Stupor, Isaac Maxwell, and Charlene Rose- McElhenie; his lifelong friends, Bob and Joni Gruszczynski, and Victoria Kaiser, who remained close and dear to him through the last few years of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Howard Pease.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
