Pauline grew up on a farm in Chelsea, Michigan but moved into town to attend high school. She was the first of her family to graduate high school. The last of seven children of George and Matilda Klink, she moved into Ann Arbor to further her education by attending business school. After completing coursework, she secured a position with the University of Michigan in their audio/visual department where she worked for many years. In October of 1956, she married William R. Hawkins, a civil engineer with the General Motors Proving Ground. Bill and Pauline welcomed a son, Mark William in March 1958. Pauline was a dedicated homemaker and loving mother to Mark and his best friend, Russell Ferguson. She enjoyed cake decorating and chocolate making. Her hand-dipped chocolates were a sought-after Christmas delight. Pauline was an avid and accomplished bowler with many awards and trophies. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Bill. Pauline is survived by her son Mark (Jean) and granddaughters Elizabeth Pauline and Aynsley Christine Hawkins. In later years, Pauline was troubled by health issues and the family is extremely grateful to all her care-givers and dedicated friends.
