She was born on October 31, 1924 in Hanoi Vietnam where she was raised and began a life defined by devotion, resilience, and unwavering love for her family. My was a devoted wife and mother who always placed her family’s needs above her own, giving generously of her time, talents, and heart.
After the passing of her beloved husband, Ngoc Quang Thai, My made the courageous decision to move to the United States in 1989 to reunite with and be closer to her family. She remained the quiet strength and steady presence at the heart of her family.
My was gifted with her hands and found joy in knitting and sewing. She lovingly created garments for herself and others, pouring care and precision into every stitch. Her handiwork reflected her patience, creativity, and dedication.
Deeply rooted in her Buddhist faith, My was a member of Linh Son Buddhist Temple in Warren, Michigan. Her faith guided her life and provided her with strength, peace, and purpose.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ngoc Quang Thai, her parents Hung Duc Nguyen and Han thi Nguyen, and her siblings.
She is survived by her devoted daughters, Mai Thai and Carolyn (Cameron) Walker; her grandchildren, Duong Do Thai, Jacob Pagano, Thinh (Kristy) Do Thai; her great grandchild, Jonah Pagano; her sister, Dung Nguyen (Vuong) Dang Vu and her sister in law Thi Qui Chung Nguyen.
