

Nancy was born January 14, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Teddy R. and Doris (Archambault) Myers. She grew up in Grosse Pointe proundly calling herself a "Gross Point Girl' and, after graduating from high school, attended Michigan State University.
While attending Michigan State, Nancy met Collins Avery. After reconnecting several years later, the two were married in 1960. Following several moves across the United States, they made Florida their home before returning to Michigan to be closer to family. Collins preceded Nancy in death on March 8, 2019.
Nancy was a strong-willed and independent woman. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing tennis and hosting card nights with friends. She remained a spiritual person throughout her life and attended several churches over the years.
Nancy is survived by her children, Dawn (Don) Wagner of Brighton, Stacey (Frank) Kurgan of Brighton, and Kevin (Kailein) Avery of Fort Wayne, Indiana; grandchildren, Janelle Foley, John Foley, and Kinsey Avery; and great-granddaughter, Marlee Foley.
In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Caprice Wagner, and her sisters, Joanne and Gloria.
