Naomi was born on October 13, 1944 in Lavinia, Tennessee to Maggie Ashcraft and Connie Brasher. She never lost her Southern sweetness. Her warm smile made everyone feel welcome. She was an avid fan of the Michigan Wolverines — Go Blue! — and NASCAR, especially her favorite driver, fellow Michigander Erik Jones. She found joy in reading her Bible, playing solitaire on her Kindle, her word search game, and listening to Elvis music. She especially loved spending warm summer days sitting on her garden swing with one or two of her beloved Chihuahuas by her side.
She also cherished her trips to Florida and was blessed in her later years to reconnect with her childhood friend, Lynda, who made some happy times for her. Although she had a challenging life, she was brave and found true happiness in the last years of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters; Shirley Eubanks, Evelyn Duke, Sue Byrd, and Norma Stevens; and her brother, James Brasher.
She is survived by her loving children; Mark (Cheryl McGough) Loy, Susan (Andy) Maiville, Chuck (Leslie) Loy, and James (Caryn) Loy; her brother, Stanley Jr. (Lori) Ashcraft; her cherished grandchildren; Jena (Jeff) Seno, Odin Loy, Owen Loy, Gracie Mae Loy and Kayden Loy and her two great-grandchildren; Amara Seno and Kai Seno. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
Thank you to the staff at Vista Grande Villa for taking care of her and making her feel loved and to Henry Ford Hospice Home for all their care and compassion. A special thank you to her friend Kathy Fiero who continued to visit Naomi even when she was no longer able to stay in her home.
Naomi will be forever missed by those who knew her, especially her children. Rest in peace our sweet Mom - no more fears or anxiety. You're safe in the arms of Jesus.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her memory to the Loki Fund at Crossroads Animal Hospital in Jackson, Michigan or the Henry Ford Hospice Home in Jackson, Michigan.
There will be a private family burial at Bethlehem Cemetery in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
