Peter Nicholas Gilbert, 59, of Ann Arbor Michigan passed away suddenly. Born March 22, 1959 in Detroit, Michigan to Kathryn (Ronald) Sirovey and the late Guenther Gilbert. He is the eldest of 4 boys; David (Ann) Gilbert, Robert (Leslie) Gilbert and Richard (Terri) Gilbert and is survived by his nieces and nephews who he adored; Jason Gilbert, Elizabeth Gilbert, Emily Gilbert and Christian Gilbert. He will be dearly missed by his canine companion Hank with whom he spent many long peaceful walks. Peter graduated from Oakland University and received his Master’s Degree from Northwestern University. Peter was a valued employee of Meridian Health Services and lived to enjoy many things in his free time including his love of ice hockey, the symphony, jazz music and sailing. Peter was a leading member and self-taught musician of the Michigan Stick Trio of which he was deeply proud. He loved the woods, water and to be surrounded by nature. A memorial celebration of Peter's life will take place on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 5:30 pm at Maggiano's Little Italy, 2089 West Big Beaver Road, Troy MI.
