

Age 94, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019. She was born September 26, 1924 the daughter of Nathan Omega and Marguerite Lucille (Bragg) Fairchild in Adrian, MI. While in high school she supported the war effort while working at the Willow Run Bomber plant and is considered a "Rosie." While in Ann Arbor, with a friend, she caught the eye of Donald Hildebrandt,then a student at the University of Michigan. They were married March 10, 1945 and he preceded her in death. After they married she left Albion college and they moved to California while Donald served in the Navy. They raised their family in West Virginia and Ohio before moving back to Ann Arbor in 1966. In Ann Arbor she continued her education and developed her career. She was a strong advocate for Ann Arbor, a city she loved until the end of her life. She fostered a lifelong love of learning, taking classes, participating in local discussion groups, and reading voraciously. Priscilla was proud to work for the Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan, for 30 years, on their prestigious economic study. In her later life they moved to acreage in Scio Township. She loved gardening, growing roses, feeding the birds and the nature that the property provided. She also loved cooking and baking, sewing, knitting, crocheting and crewel stitching. Survivors include: five children, Ann Hildebrandt of Detroit, Michael Joseph (Nina) Hildebrandt of Belleville, Joel Thomas (Judy Lightstone) Hildebrandt of New Zealand, Mary Sue Hildebrandt (Nick Carnevali) of Seattle, Lynn Hildebrandt (Michael Leon) of Okemos; five grandchildren, Lisa and Evan Hildebrandt, Sandy Lightstone Hildebrandt, Julia and Maria Carnevali and a loving grand dog Caleb; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, sister, Virginia Pankaski and brother, Nathan Thomas Fairchild. The funeral service will be 11 AM Monday, April 1, 2019 at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church 306 N Division St, Ann Arbor, MI 48104 with The Reverend Alan Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the church from 10 AM until the time of service on Monday.
