

(Rilda) Kay Pepper passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at the age of 80. She was greeted with open arms at the gates by her parents, Raymond and Kathleen (Sammons) Boggs, childhood sweetheart and husband, Benjamin Pepper and siblings Patricia Shotwell and Aros Boggs.
Born on July 1, 1943 in Ann Arbor, Kay is survived by her children James (Lydia) McKelvie, Rhonda (Dino) DeLuca and Jaki Edwards-Root, brother Raymond Boggs, Jr., sister Belva McDavid and sister-in-law Margaret Boggs.
Kay had an unwavering belief in God and was a selfless, unconditional beacon of love and kindness. The most important thing in Kay’s life was her family. She will always be cherished and celebrated for the light she brought into the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know her. Kay’s legacy will long live on in her grandchildren Nicole (Randy) Teeples, Nico (Dani) DeLuca, Corey (Jami) DeLuca, Jackson Root, Alexis Root and great-granddaughter Nai’la Teeples.
There will be a memorial gathering at Muehlig Funeral Chapel located at 403 S. Fourth Ave in Ann Arbor, MI on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 10:00am to 1:00pm, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1:00pm. There will be short graveside service at Washtenong Memorial Cemetery in Ann Arbor following the Celebration of Life Service.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made in Kay’s name to the American Diabetes Association.
