Stephanie Nina Dixon

Dixon, Stephanie (Smith) of Bloomfield Hills, MI and Mount Dora, FL passed away peacefully in her home Sunday, February 21st, 2016 after a 15 year battle with multiple myeloma (bone marrow cancer). She was born February 1st, 1942 and she was raised in Birmingham, Michigan. Stephanie was a graduate of Birmingham High School and the University of Michigan where she was a member of Delta Gamma sorority. She met John, her husband of 48 years, when she was just 7 years old and they began dating 14 years later. She made her career as a dental hygienist before devoting herself to raising her children, spending much of her time as a school volunteer and scout leader. Over the years, Stephanie enjoyed raising her children, collecting primitive antiques, interior decorating, and traveling with her 22 dearest lifelong friends. She is survived by her husband John Dixon of Bloomfield Hills, MI and Mount Dora, FL, daughter Kerrie (Aaron) Van Natter of Dexter, MI, son Mark Dixon of Bloomfield Hills, MI, twin brother Steve (Carol) Smith of Empire, MI, sister Lauri (John) Beldo of Menominee, MI, brother Mark (Peggy) Smith of Howell, MI, and granddaughters Lake and Sadie Van Natter of Dexter, MI. A private memorial service with interment at Christ Church Cranbrook is planned for the summer.
