Virginia was born on September 16, 1926 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she grew up and lived for most of her life. Virginia graduated from Ann Arbor High School in 1944 and then attended the Ann Arbor Secretarial School in Nickels Arcade. Upon completion, she went to work in the Pentagon in Washington DC as a “government girl“ processing military discharges. She was a stay at home mom for several years, returning to work at the University of Michigan where she worked for 24 years.
Everyone who knew Virginia knew how much she loved to play golf. Virginia was an avid golfer, sometimes playing 3 or 4 times a week. We couldn’t have asked for a better mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Seitz, her daughter, Barbara Williams, her grandson, James (JD) Kennedy, her parents, Oscar Luenser and Hazel Hinz Luenser, and her sister, Dorismay Thompson.
Virginia is survived by her loving children, Peggy Murray, Lori Mixon and Robert Seitz, her grandchildren, Mike Williams, Chris Williams and Don Kennedy (Danielle Kennedy) and her great grandchildren, Lily Kennedy and Levy Kennedy.
The family would like to thank Angela Hospice of Waterford for the care and compassion showed our loved one in her final days. Virginia’s family will miss her every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life at Muehlig Funeral Chapel at 403 S. Fourth Avenue, Ann Arbor, Michigan on Monday, June 2nd, at 12 PM. Visitation with the family will begin at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor to Angela Hospice (angelahospice.org) or NAMI Michigan (National Alliance on Mental Illness) (namimi.org) would be greatly appreciated.
