Dear Mildred, Tom, David, Judith and all of the Darnton family.  Bev and I send our most heartfelt sympathy and condolences occasioned by Bill's passing.  While we have only known Bill and your family a few short years, it was very clear how close your family is and has certainly been reflective of Bill's warmth and concerns all of you.  He was a wonderful man and a true credit to humanity.  His presence will be sorely missed but he left a strong legacy in his personal acts and deeds and in the torch that he passed on to all of you.  Bill and all of you are in our prayers that you might gain strength from all the memories that Bill left you with and in the knowing that the world had been left a better place for his contributions. Lots of great memories thinking back on visits to the family home in Holly, and especially summer visits to the cottage on Lake Charlevoix.  Congratulations Uncle Bill on a long and well lived life!

From my childred memories Uncle Bill was an iconic figure, returning from WWII in his Navy unform. He brought a gift of a  child's Navy uniform, which as a 5 year old, I wore proudly and was the envy of the neighborhood.

I will always treasure his wonderful sense of humor and advice. Our sympathies and thoughts to Mildred, Tom, David and Judith and their families.

Bill Darnton was my first General Supervisor at Buick Motors Parts and Accessories, IBM Dept. A learned and well respected executive, and part of a well known family in Flint, MI

Tom, I did not know your father but I am sure that he was a fine gentleman based on the kind of person you are. Please accept my condolences.

He was a great man. Loved his family with all he had in him. Such a sweet, kind fellow. May God bless you William and your family. I worked at buick also.

Fond memories of our prewar good times together in East Quadrangle at University of Michigan.   Friday night beers at the old downtown Metzger's.   (My classes were 1942 Lit and '50 Law.)

With very fond memories of a wonderful person who will be sorely missed by family and friends.
