

Christopher S Inman passed away peacefully, and unexpectedly, at the young age of 51 on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2018, surrounded by family and friends. Preceded in death by his loving parents Harold and Shirley Inman, and his four-legged best friend Cody, Chris is survived by his step-mother Mildred Inman; his brothers Kevin Inman (Cathy), David Inman (Bobbi), and Bruce Inman; his sister Shirlayne Hagan; his step-sister Meloney Smith (Steve); his beloved nieces and nephews; and his other four-legged best friend Toshi.
Chris proudly served as an Aviation Electronics Technician, Petty Officer, on the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) during Operation Desert Storm, receiving the Kuwait Service Medal in 1991. He later served at Naval Air Station Miramar in California, former home of the Navy’s TOPGUN program. After an honorable discharge from the Navy, Chris spent the last fourteen years of his short life living and working at the Strathmore in Bethesda, Maryland. He considered staff and volunteers at Strathmore his second family and was Director of Security there at the time of his death.
A Celebration of Life service for Chris will be held on January 27, 2019 at 11:00 am, The Mansion at Strathmore, 10701 Rockville Pike, North Bethesda, Maryland. Inurnment with military honors at Arlington National Cemetery will occur at a later time.
