after a heroic battle with cancer. He is survived by his two wonderful sons, Nick and Evan; his
siblings Susan McNally, Daniel Maloney, Michael Maloney, Teresa Maloney, and Kathleen
Maloney Howard; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Chris was a brilliant mathematician and armchair physicist. He received a B.S. in Engineering
from Florida Institute of Technology and an M.S. in Bioinformatics from Johns Hopkins
University. He remained a quick-witted pursuer of knowledge and information until the very
end. Chris was a loving and dedicated father. He loved doing math, science, and literature
projects with his boys. He loved building things with them. Even with cancer, he made a
see-through above-ground swimming pool by hand, and he was at work on a scale model of the
solar system. He had a strong sense of justice and fearlessly pursued the truth as he perceived
it. Chris will be missed.
