Frances W. Calvin

Frances Wolfe Calvin, 94, a 45 year resident of Annapolis, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Rutherford Manor Assisted Living. Frances was born June 5, 1922 in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania and studied music at Immaculata College in Pennsylvania. She was a church organist at St. Joseph’s Church in Washington DC and an avid reader until shortly before her death. She was a talented gardener and cook and loving grandmother and great grandmother. Frances married her late husband, Charles J. Calvin in 1942 and they shared 61 years of marriage until his death in 2003. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, David and Michael Calvin. She is survived by her daughters, JoEllen Gass of Severn MD, Ann Ellis, of Alexandria VA, and Peggy Brookman, Annapolis MD; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. A funeral Service will be held Sunday, 3:00pm, August 7, 2016 at the John M Taylor Funeral Home Chapel, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis MD.
