
After a brief illness, Franklin Harvey Dull passed away on February 27, 2015 in Annapolis, MD. Franklin was a lifelong resident of Annapolis, born in Galesville on September 29, 1927. He served in the US Army in WWII. He worked for David Taylor Naval Ship Research and Development Center for 38 years. His fondest memories were as a volunteer fireman at Arnold Volunteer Fire Department, Station 17. After joining the department in 1943, he rose to the rank of Chief in 1957 and serving at that post through 1989. He was a lifetime member and was inducted into the Anne Arundel County Volunteer Fire Fighter Association Hall of Fame in 2007. He actively enjoyed RV’ing, fishing, bird watching, and spending time with his grandchildren. Beloved husband of the late Vera Lee Dull and father of the late John F. Dull; he is survived by his son Robert L. Dull and daughter, Barbara Barrett and her husband Steven Barrett. Also surviving are his grandchildren Matthew, Nicole, Erin, Tanya, and Nicholas and 2 great grandsons. Friends and family may come to gathering at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, Inc. 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD 21401 on Wednesday March 4, 2015 from to 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Franklin’s name to the Arnold Volunteer Fire Department or Hospice of the Chesapeake.
