

James T. Collins “Jimmy” passed away April 19, 2022 after a lengthy illness. He was born July 25, 1937 in Annapolis to the late James B and Harriet L. Collins. Jimmy lived most of his life in Maryland before moving to Tennessee with his beloved wife Linda in 2005. In his earlier years he served as a radio dispatcher in the United States Air Force for four years. After serving in the military, he worked as a volunteer firefighter in Annapolis alongside his father and his brother Eddie. Jimmy was a true grill master and he loved barbecuing for his family. He also enjoyed fishing, watching Westerns, and he adored his dogs. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son William “Scott” Collins and his brothers Martin Collins and Charles “Eddie” Collins. Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Linda Collins (formerly, Boley) whom he married in 1986. Linda affectionately refers to Jimmy as her “Jim Jim”. He is also survived and lovingly remembered by his daughter, Darcy Collins, stepson Carl Kirby, Jr.; grandchildren Heather (Claffy) Crawford and her husband Patrick, and Guy Covington, Jr.; great grandson Kobe Denton; and sisters Mary Lucille Wooten of Annapolis and Barbara Ann Ellis of Ridgely.

The family will receive friends at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home 147 Duke of Gloucester Street Annapolis, MD 21401 on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 11 am to 12 noon. A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens 1911 Forest Drive Annapolis, MD 21401 Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at 12:30 PM.
