Mrs Mable R. (Prewett) Gallagher

Mable R Gallager (Prewitt), preceded in death by the late Claude and Mary (Chafin) Prewet was born in Atlanta Georgia before moving to Annapolis Md where met and married Paul Gallagher where they raised 7 children. Her beloved husband Paul A Gallager proceeded her in death in 2000. She is survived by her 7 children, Kathleen Forest (Robert), Patricia Christoper (divorced), Linda Paiz (Ben, deceased) Mary Ann Wright (Tim), Paul Gallagher (Michele) Teresa Graham (Jeff), and Thomas Gallagher. Mom was blessed with 9 Grandchildren predeceased by 1 (Jessica Christopher) 13 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Mable attended College Baptist church and then Heritage Baptist church. Mom had a beautiful voice and sang in the choir there.

Mable worked at several department stores before working with Paul running Buzzy’s in Annapolis. Mom loved children and ran a day care for many years.

Mom loved to sew and made, among other things, wedding and bride maid dresses and many Halloween costumes. She made costumes of Baby Bop and a cow costume without a pattern. She loved to paint pictures and make things by hand. She attended the Kent Island Senior center for several years where she ran classes on making hats and painting amoung other crafts.

Mable spent the last 7 years of her life at Autumn Lake Healthcare, previously Crofton healthcare in Crofton Maryland. She spent many happy days attending all the various activities they set up and was taken care of by a wonderful staff.

A visitation for Mable will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 5 to 8 PM at John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street Annapolis, MD 21401.
