Nadine Clark, a resident of Annapolis since 1975, died on Sunday, November 8, 2020, at Sunrise Assisted Living on Bestgate Road, surrounded by the love of her large family.
Nadine was born on April 23, 1931, in Groton, Connecticut to Arvid and Dorothy Chambers. In 1950, she married her high school sweetheart, who was in the U.S. Navy. They had four children: Wendy, Darrell, Pamela (P.J.), and Glenn. The family moved to Maryland in 1965, when her husband became employed by the Department of the Navy in Washington, D.C.
Her main job, and what she considered her greatest honor and achievement was that of being a mother. After her children were grown, she was employed in the field of finance and ended her career retiring from the State of Maryland payroll department, under Governors Mandel, Hughes, and Shaefer.
She is preceded in death by John K. Clark, Sr., a native resident of Annapolis, whom she married in 1976. John died in 2004; they were happily married for 28 years. They loved to travel, and visited many places both in the U.S. and abroad.
She leaves behind four children: Wendy Edstrom (Eric), Darrell Noyes, Pamela Mazza (Phillip), and Glenn Noyes (Dawn); twelve grandchildren: Brian Edstrom(Yari), Adam Edstrom (Kristy), Jason Edstrom (Michele), Allen Noyes, Gregory Noyes (Rebecca), Lisa Culver (Pete), Katherine Mazza-Curtis (Brandon), Amanda Russell (Mike), Emily Everd (Mike), Ross Noyes, Melanie Noyes, Makenzie Noyes; and sixteen great grandchildren: Darrin and Dahlia Edstrom, Kara and Ally Edstrom, Lucas and Harper Edstrom, Phoebe Noyes, Noah, Eden, and Sarah Mazza-Curtis, Taylor, Adane, Natalie, and Isaac Russell, Asher and Levi Everd.
Nadine’s family would like to thank her loving caregivers at Sunrise of Annapolis. They treated her as family with love and much good humor, calling her “The Governor,” a reference to Nadine’s tendency to give orders. In addition, Heartland Hospice provided much tender care both physically and spiritually.
A private burial service will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2020.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, or to Eastport United Methodist Church, 926 Bay Ridge Ave., Annapolis, MD 21401 or https://www.eastportumc.org/give
