Nina Martin, of Annapolis, Maryland, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a life rich in love, faith, creativity, and deep devotion to her family. Born in 1929, Nina lived a full and meaningful life, touching generations with her warmth, wisdom, and gentle presence. Nina shared a loving marriage with her devoted husband, John Willis Martin II, who preceded her in death in 1981. Their life together was marked by deep companionship, mutual respect, and a strong commitment to family.
Nina was the proud and loving mother of three children: Gale Peck (Keith), John Martin (Po Martin), and Julie Klug (Warren). Nothing brought her greater joy than her family, a love that grew to include eleven grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren. She followed each of their lives with genuine interest and unwavering pride, celebrating milestones, offering encouragement, and providing steady support. To her family, Nina was a constant source of comfort, reassurance, and unconditional love.
A longtime and devoted member of Broadneck EP Church, Nina’s faith was a quiet but guiding force in her life. She lived her beliefs through kindness, compassion, and a sincere interest in others. Her gentle spirit and thoughtful presence left a lasting impression on everyone she met, both within her church community and beyond.
Nina found great joy on the water, especially sailing in the familiar and beloved waters of Annapolis. She and Jack were founders of the Alberg 30, H23, and Hampton One Design Racing Fleets. She also expressed her creativity through watercolor painting, capturing moments of beauty and calm that mirrored her own peaceful nature. Her artwork remains a cherished reminder of her talent and the thoughtful way she viewed the world.
Above all else, Nina loved being with her family. Her home was a place of warmth and welcome, where conversation flowed easily, stories were shared, and everyone felt at ease. Her presence brought a sense of peace and belonging, and she will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
