

Saks– Funeral services for Mr. A.D. Baxter, age 92, of Saks will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 23, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Chapel Hill.
Mr. Baxter passed away Monday at his residence.
Mr. Baxter is survived by his daughters, Marie Martin, Velma Duffie and Debra Quick; son, Gary (Bernice) Baxter; seventeen grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Matthew, Michael, and Curtis Martin, Dewey Quick, John Lewis, and Jeff Honeycutt.
Mr. Baxter was a native of Tennessee and lifelong resident of Calhoun County, served in the U.S Army where he received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star during WWII, and was a member of the Anniston Praise and Worship Center.
Mr. Baxter was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Couey Baxter; daughter, Lois Annette Lewis; sons, Donald Lee Baxter and David Baxter.
In lieu of flowers donation can be made to the Anniston Praise and Worship Center.
