Amos Jones

Ohatchee – Funeral services for Mr. Amos Crowley Jones, 89, will be Friday, January 19, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Oak Bowery Baptist Church with Rev. Whitt Hibbs and Rev. Sam Fordham officiating with burial to follow at Oak Bowery Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until service time at the church.

Mr. Jones passed on Monday, January 15, 2018 at RMC-Stringfellow.

Mr. Jones is survived by his daughter, Paula (Marlin) Harrell; sons, Amos Steve Jones, and Bryan Drake Jones; sister, Alice Truitt; brother, Harold Jones; grandchildren, Paul Craig Harrell, and Dana Leigh (Jason) Pitts; great-grandchildren, Morgan Ryleigh Pitts, Rebecca Danice Harrell, Hayden Wayne Pitts, and Landon Gage Harrell.

Mr. Jones is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Jones; sister, Marie Motes; brother, Lester Jones; parents, Ben and Ester Jones.

Mr. Jones was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He was a retired from Lee Brass after 48 years. Mr. Jones loved his wife, grandkids, fishing, and cutting grass.

Family wishes to send a special thanks to his caregivers, Zola Blackburn, and Grace Brooks; staff at Kindred Home Health; and staff at Stringfellow hospital 3rd floor and the ER staff.
