David T. Johnson

A celebration of life for David T. Johnson, 73, of Weaver, will be 3 pm Monday, June 17, 2013 at Gray Brown-Service Chapel with Rev. Benny Abney officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday from 1 – 3 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Johnson died Saturday at RMC.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Patricia Johnson, daughter, Pam Joplin (Terry), son, Greg Johnson, Grandchildren, Kelsey Martz (Matt), Kendall Johnson and Robby Joplin (Crystal), great-grandchildren, Luke, Eli and Jude Joplin and Karlie Martz, sisters, Avis Jones, Betty Gill (Lester) and Linda Sheets (Tommy), brother, William Johnson (Barbara), sister-in-law, Lynne Kemp (Mark).

Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Myrtle Johnson, brothers, Thurman and Wayne Johnson, grandson, Austin Joplin.

Pallbearers will be Terry Joplin, Mark Kemp, Matt Martz, Tommy Sheets, Larry Angles and Robby Joplin..

Mr. Johnson was a native and lifelong resident of Calhoun County. He retired from Alacote Corporation. Mr. Johnson was an avid golfer and a big Alabama fan. Mr. Johnson loved his family and he was of the Baptist faith.
