Dollie is survived by her daughter Lisa Cotton Elkins (Dr. Donnie Elkins); her brothers Lowell Wood (Carolyn) and Wilbur Wood (Janice); her grandchildren Daniel Elkins (Marianne) and Sean Elkins (Brooke), her step grandchild Michalle Leatherwood, her great grandchildren Katelyn Elkins, Connor Elkins, Caroline Elkins, Addison Elkins and Caleb Elkins and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dollie was preceded in death by her husband James Thomas; her parents James McKinley Wood and Eddie Effie Wood; her sister Othelia Riley; her brothers Jimmy Wood and Clarence Wood; her first love Leonard Cotton, and her stepson Mike Thomas (Kim).
A visitation for Dollie will be held Friday, November 25, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Leatherwood Baptist Church, 2709 Old Gadsden Hwy, Anniston, AL 36206, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM with Rev. Dan Elkins officiating and soloist Jeffrey Vinson. Burial will be held following the service at Seven Springs Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Alvin Wood, Tommy Wood, Gary Wood, Stephen Wood, Craig Vinson and Nolan Phillips.
Dollie was a member of Leatherwood Baptist Church and loved her Ladies Bible Study class led by Sue Burgess. She graduated from Jacksonville High School. She took great pride in her professional career and was an officer of the Anniston Personnel Association. She enjoyed crocheting in her spare time while watching her favorite shows on the television.
