Donnie Wayne Nunnelly

Graveside services for Mr. Donnie Wayne Nunnelly, 74, of Ohatchee, will be October 12th, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at Ohatchee First Baptist Church Cemetery, with Bro. Lee Bridges officiating. Mr. Nunnelly passed away on October 6th, 2023.

He is survived by his fiancé, Celesia Jennings; twin daughters, Lori (B.J.) Vice, Beverly Brown; son, Eric Nunnelly; step-children, Dawn (Matt) Higgins, Gray (Hali) Donner; grandchildren, Tyler Brown, Alison Nunnelly, Tanner (Kayleigh) Brown, Gage Harrell, Oliva Nunnelly, Rebecca Harrell. Ryan Nunnelly, Caleb Vice, Hadley Higgins, Tucker Higgins; 2 great-grandchildren, Raelyn Brown and Emersyn Vice; sisters, Faye Zurchin and Wanda McGinnis; he also leaves behind his beloved cat, Thomas Wayne.

Mr. Nunnelly is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lois Nunnelly; his wife, Rebecca Nunnelly; sisters, Billie Jo Priest, Mary Bentley, Margie Poole; brothers, Tryce Nunnelly and Travis Nunnelly.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Brown, Tanner Brown, Gage Harrell, Ryan Nunnelly, Eric Nunnelly, and B.J. Vice.

Mr. Nunnelly was a lifelong resident of Ohatchee and a 1967 graduate of Ohatchee High School. He proudly served four years in the United States Air Force. After serving his country, he worked 37 years for the Anniston Army Depot where he retired in 2004. He enjoyed spending time serving the community, giving hay rides, hosting get-togethers for family and friends. He also loved to give to the community and donated not only to the community, but charities as well. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Rebecca J. Nunnelly Scholarship Fund at Gadsden State Community College.
