

Alexandria - Funeral service for Geneva Morgan Truitt, 93, will be at 2 p.m. today, January 31, 2015, at Gray Brown- Service Chapel with Dr. Gary Ragsdale officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Ms. Truitt passed away January 29, 2015 at Regional Medical Center in Anniston.
Ms. Truitt is survived by her sons, Gary (LeWauna) Truitt and Dan (Sandra) Truitt; grandchildren, Vickie (David) Haynes, Tim Truitt, Shannon Truitt, Shelby Truitt and Alana (Sean) MacDonald. She is also survived by 5 great-grand-children and a beloved brother, Travis (Jane) Morgan. Ms. Truitt is also survived by dear friends, Donna Brown, Polly Cupp, Margaret Ramsey and Barbara Bates.
Ms. Truitt was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Earl Truitt; brothers, J.C. Morgan, Frank Morgan, Howard Morgan, Claud Morgan, Ralph Morgan, and Bill Morgan; sisters preceding her in death are Marge Swafford, Eunice Wheeler and Mattie Sprayberry; parents, Annie Coleman Morgan, and Percy Morgan.
Ms. Truitt was a big Atlanta Braves, Alexandria Valley Cub and Alabama Crimson Tide fan. She enjoyed playing piano and singing gospel music with her church friends. She was a 1942 graduate of Alexandria High School. Pallbearers will be Dan Truitt, Gary Truitt, Tim Truitt, Shannon Truitt, Josh Truitt and Adam Haynes. Ms. Truitt was a lifelong member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Alexandria. She was a true Christian lady who always found good in everyone. The family would also like to thank Ms. Truitt's grand-daughter, Vickie Haynes for being a constant companion for our mother during these last few years of her life.
