A visitation service for George Anthony "Tony" Hobbs Jr. will be held Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 542 W 52nd St, Anniston, Alabama 36206, followed by a memorial service at 4:00 PM. Pastor George Robinson will be officiating.
Tony, age 46, of Alexandria, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. Tony was born July 18, 1975 in Anniston, Alabama.
He is survived by his mother Kay Hobbs, his sister Amy Kerr (Bit), two sons, Will and Walker Hobbs, his loving companion Jennifer Murray and the mother of his two children, Mandi Rosier (John).
Tony was preceded in death by his grandparents, Aaron Arnold "Big Daddy" and Mary Katherine Ponder.
Tony graduated from Alexandria High School in 1993. There, he proudly wore #75 for the Valley Cubs Football Team. To those who knew Tony, he was a meek and caring man with an infectious smile. He was a loving father, a cherished son, a doting brother and a faithful friend. His arms were as massive as his Big Daddy’s bear hugs. Tony’s favorite pastimes included Alabama Crimson Tide football, restoring his beloved Big Daddy’s 1980 Chevrolet Pickup with his two sons and his music room, jamming out with his two favorite band members, Will and Walker.
