

Mr. Glenn H. Robinson, 84, of Anniston, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at NE Alabama Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be at 2 pm on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Church of the Cross, 1600 Greenbrier Dear Road, Anniston, AL 36207 with Pastor Ken Ballard officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 am until the service hour at the church.
Mr. Robinson was born in Edwardsville, AL. He was a 1949 graduate of Cleburne County High School in Heflin. After high school, Mr. Robinson, enlisted in the United States Navy. He was stationed aboard the Destroyer Duncan during the Korean War.
After completing his service, he graduated in 1959 from Georgia State University where he received a BBA in Real Estate. Mr. Robinson began a career in real estate in Anniston with Clyde Pippin. He started working for Harris McKay in 1961. In 1971, he partnered with Fred Williams and formed Service Realty Company. He later partnered with Agnes Huckaby as co-owners of Service Realty and was later joined by Franz Cobb. He received numerous sales awards throughout his real estate career and was chosen as Realtor of the Year in 1982 by the Anniston Board of Realtors.
Mr. Robinson was one of the founding fathers of Church of the Cross where he was a longtime member. He served as an elder and Bible study teacher. He was involved in several ministries and organizations including serving as Chairman of the Board of Sav-a-Life, Anniston Civitan Club, and a Board member of ARC.
Mr. Robinson was an avid gardener, and loved camping and fishing. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family dearly. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Robinson is preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Haynes Robinson; his parents, William Frank Robinson and Hattie Bannister Robinson; two brothers and four sisters, Hubert (Helen) Robinson, Willis Robinson, Myrtice (Ray) Hughes, Reba (Butch) Cheatwood, Murnette (J.R.) Baird, and Wilma Jean (Jim) Woodard.
He is survived by his loving wife, Faye Robinson; a son, Brian (LeAnn) Robinson; three daughters, Ronda Whitfield, Marsha (Wes) Jones, and Sonya (Mike) Weber; a special niece, Judy Robinson; grandchildren, Rachel Robinson, Zach Riddle, Cody Whitfield, Brad Jones, Tara (Andrew) Collins, Blake Weber, and Cole Weber; sisters-in-law, Mildred Laney and Joan Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of Church of the Cross.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Church of the Cross, 1600 Greenbrier Dear Road, Anniston, AL 36207.
