Funeral services for James J. Mahan, 78, of Weaver will be 1 pm Monday, February 22, 2021 at Gray Brown-Service Chapel with Angela Blake, Eddie Cornelius and Phillip Lloyd officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12 - 1 pm at the funeral home. Mr. Mahan passed away on Friday at his residence.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Martha Mahan, his daughter, Angela Blake (Danny), son, Keith Mahan (Daniel), six grandchildren, Michael Brakeman (Rhonda), Matthew Brakeman (Brittany), Bo Curtis, Brandon Mahan, Chelsea Traywick, and Taurla Munley (T.J.), eight great-grandchildren, Alayna Brakeman, Ryleigh Brakeman, Laileigh Hilyer, Leigha Thompson, Caden Brakeman, Blake Traywick, Reese Munley and Avery Munley, Many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. Two sister-in-laws and one brother-in-law.
Pallbearers will be Danny Blake, Keith Mahan, Daniel Gaffin, Michael Brakeman, Matthew Brakeman and Ronald Johnston.
James was a loving husband, father, grandpa and pawpaw. He loved his family with all his heart. He always put family needs before his own. He spent the last 57 years spoiling his wife, whom he loved more than life. He was a god fearing man. He never met a stranger and was a good friend till the end.
