

born to loving and gracious parents, Mack Leroy Baggett and Geneva Ellen Sheffield, on October 7, 1929
at the cusp of the Great Depression. Her early life at home was shared with two sisters, Libby and Faye,
two foster sisters, Margaret and Peggy and one brother, John. Jerry graduated from Ensley High School
and the Birmingham College of Dental Hygenists. She moved to Anniston soon after graduation for
employment with the Dental Clinic at Fort McClellan. In Anniston, she met and married her husband of
58 years, James Lafayette Williams(1925-2013). Jerry loved flowers, gardening and yard life following in
the footsteps of her Mother, owner and operator of Valley Florist in Homewood, Alabama for many
years. Family was paramount in her life and gatherings of the Aunts, Uncles and Cousins was an annual
event. Jerry was a wonderful cook and homemaker and delighted in hosting the grandchildrens’ annual
Easter Egg Hunt on her lawn. Jerry was an active member in the Carre Class of the First United
Methodist Church in Anniston. She is survived by her children, Nancy W Richardson(Ron) and James
Lynn(Jimbo) Williams(Ginny), six Grandchildren, Ryan Richardson(Erin), Lynsey Richardson, Tyler
Williams(Jenna), John David Williams, Scott Williams and Ashley Williams along with five great-
grandsons.
Funeral services for Mrs. Williams will be Tuesday, July 19th, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Anniston with Rev. Tammy Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Edgemont Cemetery. The family will welcome friends at 9:15 a.m., at the church.
Her Grandchildren will serve as pall bearers.
The family asks for donations to First United Methodist Church of Anniston in lieu of flowers.
