Funeral service for John H. Poe, 72, of Dearmanville, will be 12pm Monday, November 26th, 2018, at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary with Bro. Don Barnette and Pastor Abby Wilkes officiating. Burial will follow at Dearmanville United Methodist Cemetery The family will receive friends from 11-12pm on Monday. Mr. Poe passed away Friday in Birmingham.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Evelyn Williams Poe; children Randall Poe, John Poe, Tina Cupp, and Vicki Coleman; ten grandchildren Tyler Dopson, Stuart Poe, Loren Coleman, Brooke Coleman, Chandler Cupp, Cameron Poe, Drennon Poe, Blakely Cupp, Landon Poe, and Baylie Rooks; two great-grandchildren with one on the way; and sister Lorene Coplin.
Mr. Poe is preceded in death by his parents Wiley and Mae Jones Poe; brothers Jimmy Poe, Spencer Poe, Winston Poe, And Ralph Poe; sisters Doris Poe, and Jeraldine Hale.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Dopson, Stuart Poe, Chandler Cupp, Cameron Poe, Dingus Griffin, and Michael Pressley. Honorary Pallbearers will be Landon Poe and Drennon Poe.
Mr. Poe retired from the Anniston Army Depot. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and playing with his grandkids. He loved animals and loved spending time with his grandkids. He loved going on trips to Gatlinburg, going to church, and the Holidays. He also loved to watch Alabama Football (ROLL TIDE!)
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Dearmanville United Methodist Church.
