Born with a strong sense of duty and service, Ken proudly served his country in the United States Army for 10 years, including multiple tours in Vietnam. His bravery and selflessness earned him the respect and admiration of his fellow soldiers and community. Ken's love for life was evident in his many passions and interests. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing (deep-sea) and gardening. He was also a skilled cook and took great pride in sharing his cornbread and purple hull peas with family and friends. A true sports enthusiast, Ken was a life-long fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Atlanta Braves. In addition to his many hobbies, Kenneth was a dedicated public servant. He worked at the Noble Army Hospital at Fort McClellan for 34 years! He also served as the Governor of the Loyal Order of the Moose for many years, demonstrating his commitment to community service and leadership. Ken's greatest joy, however, was spending time with his friends and loved ones. Some of the family's fondest memories are gathering together to enjoy an all-night Rook session or just putting puzzles together with Ken. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the memories he created. The family of Kenneth Jackson Jones will deeply miss his kind heart, generous spirit, and infectious sense of humor. His passing leaves a void in the lives of all who knew him, but his memory will continue to inspire and uplift those who loved him.
