He is survived by a son Jeremy Arnold, three grandchildren Xavier Arnold, Marilyn Arnold and Lily Arnold, all of Oxford, two sisters Inez Petty and Glenda Patterson both from Anniston along with 14 nieces and nephews.
Mr. Penland is preceded in death by his parents Willis and Mary Penland of Anniston, a brother Johnny Penland and a sister Janet Smart all from Anniston.
Mr. Penland was a lifelong resident of Calhoun County and a graduate of Saks High School. He was an Artist and a State Basketball Champion. He retired from the Steel Industry and was a member of Fairview Heights Baptist Church.
