

Lamurel was born in Alabama to Bertha and Joe Ellison.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan DuMond (Dewy); her three sons; Andy Wilkerson Jr. (Susan), John Wilkerson, and David Wilkerson. Survivors also include her grandchildren; Stephanie Crosson (Alan), John Wilkerson, Brandt Nichols (Brian), Kyle Nichols, Kyle Wilkerson, Dawn Hedgepeth (Joe), Dana Goble (Billy), and Jennifer McWhorter. Lamurel is also survived by 7 great grand children and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Wilkerson is preceded in death by her parents, Bertha and Joe Ellison; her husband Andy Wilkerson; her brothers; Billy Ellison, Jack Ellison (Helen), and John Ellison (Mary-Ann), her sisters; Evelyn Ellison, Edna Dikeman (Lonnie), Mildred Hammett (James), Betty Reid (Jack), and Katheryn Morgan (Loyd). She is also preceded in death by her grandson Nathan Wilkerson.
Lamurel graduated from Oxford High School in 1955. She was an active member to many churches throughout her life.
Lamurel volunteered working the polls for decades. She loved politics and could spend hours talking about it. She also volunteered with the Pink Ladies at Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be Monday, November 11th, 2024 in the chapel of Gray Brown Service Mortuary, at 1 P.M. Services will begin at 2 P.M. with Earl Tucker and Dawn Hedgepeth officiating. A graveside service will follow at Antioch Baptist Cemetery in Oxford, Alabama.
Lamurel Wilkerson was a "Mom" and a "Meme" to every child she met and loved them all as her own.
