A funeral service will be held for Leo on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of Faith Presbyterian Church, 4100 Ronnaki Rd, Anniston, Alabama 36207. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 1:00 PM.
Leo is survived by his wife, Phyllis Berthiaume; his daughter Michele Berthiaume; his son Mark Berthiaume (Lee-Ann); and his daughter Sheila Pierce (Timothy); his sister Lorena Page; his grandchildren Alyssa Clement (Jacob), Ashlee Duffy, Gracie Berthiaume, Nelson Berthiaume, Micah Pierce, Allana Pierce, Josiah Pierce, Isabella Pierce, and great grandchildren Ashton Duffy, Hudson Palmer and Lauren McElyea.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents David and Eugenie Barcomb; his brother Bernard Barcomb.
Immediately following graduation from Randolph High School (Vermont) in 1953, Leo Berthiaume joined the U.S. Marine Corps where he proudly served his country for the next three years, achieving the rank of Corporal during that time. He then attended Keene State College in 1961 and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Education. Out of all of these great accomplishments, Leo says his greatest achievements in life were being blessed with the births of his three children. They, along with his wife, Phyllis, all agree that Leo was a loving father, husband, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed his hobbies also, such as golf and following the Boston Red Sox. Obviously, Leo was an educated man, however he was also a wise man. Leo was wise in that he made Jesus Christ his example to follow while here on earth. This is exemplified in his daily life as he was so kind and generous. He made it a point to be a servant of others. Leo was a very Godly man of faith who will be greatly missed by all of those who were blessed to know him personally.
