
Funeral service for Lillie Mae Walker Morris, 93, of Anniston, will be 2 pm Sunday, March 8, 2015, at Gray Brown-Service Chapel with Dr. Billy Harris and Dr. Mack Amis officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn gardens. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12 – 2 pm at the funeral home. Mrs. Morris left this earthly life on Friday at RMC.
Survivors include three sisters, Mary Lou Perkins, Edith Trammell and Jean Donahue, one brother, Charles A. Chandler.
Mrs. Morris is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Chester A. Morris, Sisters, Sara Mobley, Gladys Owens and Laura Lee Reaves.
Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Phebean Sunday School Class.
Lillie was a native of Calhoun County, but lived most of her life in Des Moines, Iowa. She obtained her Theology degree from Tennessee Temple University where she was Valedictorian of her class. She served as Director of Education at Grace Baptist Church in Des Moines and taught Sunday School for 63 years, including 23 years at Parker Memorial Baptist Church. Lillie was a true Southern belle and will be remembered for her gentle spirit.
The family would like to thank Dr. Valente, Dr. Bidikov, and Dr. Shubair as well as the wonderful nurses in the ICU at RMC Anniston.
The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made in her memory to Parker Memorial Baptist Church Missions.
