Funeral service for Marie Stanley, 83, of Anniston, will be 2:00 pm, Monday, October 7, 2013, at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary with Rev. Kevin Garrett officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca Stanley and husband John Durkin; sons, Jim Stanley, Joe Stanley and wife Mindy, and Randy Stanley; grandchildren, Jacob, Kayleigh, Jenna, Jamie, and Mia Claire Stanley; and brother, Bobby English.
Mrs. Stanley is preceded in death by her husband James Stanley.
Mrs. Stanley was a longtime member of Parker Memorial Baptist Church. She retired as a school teacher after many years of service teaching at Johnson Jr. High and Saks High School. For the past two years Mrs. Stanley and her brother have resided in Madison, Al to be closer to family.
