
Funeral service for Nancy Pearl Whetstone Tyson, 74, of Weaver will be held at 2pm on January 2nd, 2018 at West Weaver Baptist Church with Rev. Bryan Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens and Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 12-2pm at the church. Mrs. Tyson passed away Saturday at her home.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, William F. Tyson; son Michael Allen Tyson (JoAnn); grandchildren Matthew Allen Tyson (Lindsay) and Anna Tyson; grandson by marriage Trevor Crow; great-grandchildren Timothy Allen Tyson, Cynthia Laney Tyson, and Amelia Rose Tyson; sisters Geraldine Newton (Richard) and Marie McCrelles; several nieces and nephews; and her German Shepherd “Buddy.”
Mrs. Tyson is preceded in death by her parents Aubrey and Pearlie Whetstone; and brother Ronald Lee Whetstone (Elaine).
Pallbearers will be friends and family.
Mrs. Tyson was a native of Calhoun County and was part of the first graduating class of Saks High School in 1962. She worked for Family Court for 41 years, retiring as Family Court Supervisor. She was a member of West Weaver Baptist Church for over 50+ years where she served as the church secretary for a majority of her membership. She loved her Lord, Jesus Christ. Her husband, son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her whole world. She also loved the Crimson Tide.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to West Weaver Baptist Church, Calhoun County YMCA,American Diabetes Association, or the American Cancer Society.
