
Memorial Service for Mr. Norman Gene "Gene 0 - Rowdy" Owen, 71, we be 6 pm, Monday, June 8, 2015 at 1st Baptist Church of White Plains. Mr. Owen went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Friday evening. He died at his residence surrounded by his wife, son, grandson, many family members and church family, after losing his battle with liver cancer.
Survivors include his wife, Ginger Williams Owen; sons, David Eugene Owen and Chris Owen (Holly); grandchildren, Tyler, Mikayla, and Chase; sister, Lorena Owen Griffith and many nieces, nephew and cousins.
Mr. Owen is preceded in death by his parents, Lilly Austin and Albert Gordon Owen and sister, Earnestine Owen Hall.
Mr. Owen was born Oct. 6, 1943 in White Plains. He graduated for White Plains High in 1961. He married Ginger Williams March 2, 1972 in Calhoun County. Mr. Owen worked for Monsanto for 18 years and for URS maintenance group at COBRA Unit for 23 years where he retired.
The family would like to extend special thanks to, Dr. David Chaulk, Misty Beecham, Gentiva Hospice Martha, Tracy and Amanda. Also the liver transplant team at UAB, Dr. Echoff and staff. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to 1st Baptist Church of White Plains.
