Funeral service for Richard McCartney Jr., will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Gray Brown-Service with the Rev. Frank Haynie officiating. Burial will follow at Eulaton Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mr. McCartney passed away Saturday afternoon at his residence.
Survivors include his parents, Richard and Irene McCartney Sr.; brother, Mike McCartney and his wife, Sonia; niece, Lauren McCartney; nephews, Chipper and Dylan McCartney, all, of Alexandria. Mr. McCartney is preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Mary McCartney, and John and Elbie Free.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Baird, Keith Ledbetter, Chipper McCartney, Dylan McCartney, Curtis Cupp and Jody Whaley.
Mr. McCartney graduated from Alexandria High School, Class of 1982. He served in the U.S Army and retired from the Anniston Army Depot.
