

Rose Marie Chadwick Bailey of Anniston, AL was called to join our Lord on July 13th at 7:15pm. She passed at her home with her family present. Funeral services will be held this Saturday, July 16th, 2016, 1pm, at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary on 1329 Wilmer Ave. in Anniston, AL. Pastor Darrell Paulk and Associate Pastor Chris Spurlin will be officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12pm-1pm.
Rose was born in Kansas City, Missouri on December 14th 1931. She was recruited by the F.B.I. at graduation from Hueytown High School. In Washington D.C. she roomed with Mary Jo Sheshane of Hueytown, AL and Suzanne Vaught of Brentwood, Tennessee. They have remained life-long friends for 54 years. Rose was homesick for Alabama and returned to Bessemer where she was introduced to Newell Bailey at church. He was home on leave from Shaw A.F.B. , South Carolina. After a long distance courtship, Rose and Newell were married on December 24, 1954. Their honeymoon was the trip to Utah; the first of many duty stations during Newell’s 21 years in the Air Force. Their son, Robert was born in South Carolina in 1956 and son, Scott in Omaha, Nebraska in 1960. During all their moves, Rose worked as a secretary and then as a full time mother and housewife.
She leaves behind her husband of 62 ½ years, Newell G. Bailey; Son, Robert N. Bailey (Charlotte) of Cheyenne, WY; Grandson, Damien Bailey and Great-Granddaughter. Sky of Gardendale, AL; Granddaughter, Evelyn Snider (Chip); Great-granddaughter Eva and Great-Grandson, Charles, of Trussville, AL; Daughter-in-law, Amy Bailey of Gardendale, AL; Sister-in-laws, Doris Estress of Panama City, FL and Glenda Dobbs of Sylacauga, AL; Many nieces, nephews, and good friends. Rose is proceeded in death by son, Scott Bailey; Mother, Cora Parsons; Sister, Patricia Miller; Mother-in-law, Bessie Reynolds Bailey; Brother-in-law, John Bailey; Sister-in-law, Sue Weaver; Many family members and friends. Pallbearers will be, Damien Bailey, Chip Snider, John Bailey, Garvin Hom, Eddie Owens, John Lorenz, and Issac Owens.
