

Weaver - Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma Hudgins Shake, 84 of Weaver will be Friday, January 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Duncan officiating with burial following at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening from 6-8 p.m. at Chapel Hill.
Mrs. Shake passed away January 15, 2013 at RMC.
Mrs. Shake was raised the fifth of eleven children in Nances Creek, Alabama.
Mrs. Shake was preceded in death by her husband Julian Shake, her son Roger Coley, her brothers, Charlie, Pat, Arther, and Sanford “Pee-Wee” Hudgins, her sisters Christine Norris, Beatrice Hudgins, Flora Ann “Tot” Turner, and her parents Sanford Hudgins and Frances Hudgins Brown.
Mrs. Shake is survived by her sons Bobby Coley, wife Patsy, and Emmitt Shake, wife Becky; brother Joe (Edith) Hudgins; sisters, Alice Goodrich, Charlene “Molly” Mann; sister-in-law, Judy Hudgins; grandchildren, Keith (Susan) Coley, Tonya Coley, Anthony (Robin) Coley, Carrie (Craig) Goodson, Justin Shake, Joshua Shake, Jared Shake, Jacob Shake; 7 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
Mrs. Shake was well known in the community as an avid gardener and collector of salt and pepper shakers. Her collection of salt and pepper shakers reached all across the globe with friends and family bringing her sets from anywhere that they traveled. Mrs. Shake’s collection has been featured in the local paper on two different occasions.
