

Anniston – Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Edward “Sonny” Nance, 84 of Anniston will be held Friday, March 11, 2016 at 12 p.m. at Eulaton First Baptist Church with Randy Huddleston, and Bryan Williams officiating with burial to follow at Eulaton First Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Nance passed on Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at RMC in Anniston.
Mr. Nance is survived by his wife, Jane Seegar Nance; daughters, Beverly Nance, Andrea Nance (Rob) Baker, and Susie Nance; grandchild, Nicholas Adam Nance (Adam Hand); and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Nephews and members of the Barnabas Class of Eulaton First Baptist Church.
Mr. Nance is preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Annie Nance; sisters, Hilda Nance Craft, Mary Sue Nance Cupp, Geneva Nance Ingram, and Emma Jo Adams; brother, James Nance.
Sonny was retired from Anniston Army Depot with 34 years of service. He was commonly known as “The Mayor of Eulaton”. He believed in loving and helping his fellow man and performing unsung acts of kindness. Sonny loved his family and was known for his huge gardens, he fed many families from his garden’s proceeds. He was an avid Wellborn High School supporter, a fan of NASCAR, the Atlanta Braves and college football. Sonny was one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
