Born to Mitchell and Lorraine (Aydt) Vasseur, Muriel was the seventh of fourteen children. She married Robert Gatten in 1954 and they had six children. Muriel loved little kids, and worked for many years at Kids Club at Spring Lake Park High School.
She was preceded in passing by her loving husband, Robert Gatten; and sons, Bruce and Paul.
Muriel is survived by her children, Janelle (Tim) Kletzin, Debi (Craig) Johnson, Pam Gatten, Gary Gatten; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; siblings, Carol Nelson, Lowell Vasseur, Judy (Paul) Baumgartner, Lorrie Vasseur-Sandy, Nadine (Jim) Fearell; many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
Join us to celebrate Muriel's life on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Gearhart Funeral Home, 552 East River Rd, Anoka. Visitation at 9:00 am, service at 10:00 am, and luncheon to follow.
Private Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN.
