Cecil T. Morris

Cecil Thomas Morris, 88, of New Hill, died on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. Mr. Morris was born in Wake County on June 26, 1924 to Jasper H. Morris and Leona Ferguson Morris. He served his country honorably in WWII.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Rebecca Goodwin Morris; daughter: Carolyn Morris Gunter and husband, Jerry of New Hill; brother: Carl L. Morris of New Hill; sister: Virginia Horner of Moncure; grandchildren: Michelle Gunter Everhart and husband, Sam, and Stephen Morris Gunter and wife, Corey. Mr. Morris is also survived by his cherished great grandchildren: Caroline Grace Everhart, and Mason Thomas Gunter.

He is preceded in death by his sisters: Ina Bishop, Ola Booth, and Hazel Bowling.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Apex Funeral Home, 550 W. Williams St., Apex.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 28, 2012 at New Hill Baptist Church, 3700 Old US Hwy 1, New Hill, NC 27562. Burial will be in New Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors.
