Lore Johanna Hammer

Lore Johanna Hammer died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, July 29th, 2021 in Wilmington, NC at the age of 81. Lore was born on Dec 1st, 1939 in Ravolzhausen-Neuberg, Germany to Katharina Elisabethe Klein and Wilhelm Georg Klein. At the age of 19, she met the love of her life Noris “Mike” Hammer, who was stationed in the Army there and on November 8th, 1959, they were married at the Lutheran Church in Orlando. Soon afterwards, she became an American citizen. Mike and Lore were happily married for 47 years, until his passing in 2006. Lore was a hard working woman and worked over 50 years of her life. She always knew what mattered most and family meant everything to her. Throughout her entire life Lore was totally dedicated to her husband and her two daughters in all aspects of their lives. She was the type of person that, everyone who met her, loved her immediately. Her smile could brighten anyones day. She was a very sweet woman and a big animal lover. Lore was preceded in death by her father, Wilhelm Georg Klein, her Mother, Katharina Elisabethe Klein, her husband, Noris “Mike” Hammer and her daughter Michelle Marie Hammer. She is survived by her daughter, Joan Hammer—Bailiff and many nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends here in the US and Germany. The family wishes to sincerely thank Cornerstone hospice in The Villages, Fl and Lower Cape Fear Lifecare hospice in NC for the wonderful care and support given. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 31st at 11 o'clock am at Highland Memory Gardens, 3329 E Semoran Blvd, Apopka, FL 32703 In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Lore's memory to the Humane Society in Umatilla, FL or Cat Protection Society in Eustes, Fl.See more See Less
