Charles C. Williams Sr., age 89, of Taylorsville, passed away Monday, December 24, 2012. Charles was born on November 2, 1923 in Guilford County to E. F. Williams Sr. and Ruth Thacker Williams. Charles worked as a salesman at High Point Hardware and retired in May 1990. He was a veteran of the Army and was a member of Woodsman of the world and was a member of Reavis Memorial Baptist in High Point. He married his late wife on January 8, 1943 and together they had two children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Ernestine Williams; two sisters, Nancy W. Stephens and Frances Johnson; two brothers, C.F. Williams Jr. and M.B. Williams; two grandchildren, Cindy Hyder and Chip Williams. Survivors include a daughter, Tony Chapman and her husband Lewis of Taylorsville; son, Charles C. Williams Jr. and his wife Sandra; four grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 12-2pm at Sechrest Funeral Service in Archdale and a graveside will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park in High Point.
