He was born on April 12, 1931 in Greensboro, NC, a son of James and Pearl Jane Daniels.
He served in the U.S. Navy for six years and was proud to serve his country. He was employed by Lorillard of Greensboro for 33 years. He was a member of Sophia Baptist Church in Sophia.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, the former Annie Barham. He is also survived by sons: Alan Daniels and wife Robin of Trinity, Jeff Daniels and wife Linda of Trinity, Tim Daniels and wife Robin of Greensboro: and daughter Debbie Jones of Greensboro. He is also survived by six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The family will receive friends at Sechrest Funeral Service, 120 Trindale Road, Archdale,NC on Sunday, October 27 from 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 28th at the VA National Cemetery (located at the W.G. (Bill) Hefner VA Medical Center) in Salisbury, NC at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the VA Liberty Lane Hospice House, 1601 Brenner Avenue, Salisbury, NC 28144.
