J.B. Henry, age 79, of Sophia, passed away, Saturday, December 29, 2012 at his residence. J.B. was born on February 23, 1933 in Tennessee to the late George Washington Henry and Lily Mae Walker Henry, he spent 60 years as a furniture upholsterer then retired from Swaim Furniture. He was a member of Springfield Baptist Church in High Point and he loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Henry of the home; daughter, Reta Ivey and her husband Ricky of Trinity; son, David Henry and his wife Lori of High Point; three grandchildren, Danielle Cox and her husband Justin, Kelly Boles and her husband Jason and Katie Ivey and three great grandchildren, Adalyn, Andrew and Brooklyn.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2012 at 12:00pm at Springfield Baptist Church in High Point with Pastor Bobby Loving officiating, burial will follow at Floral Garden Memorial Park in High Point. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service at the church.
